NIGHT THE LIGHTS WENT OUT IN GEORGIA $11.95 1981 film starring Kristy McNichol, Dennis Quaid, Mark Hamill, and Don Stroud. It was very loosely inspired by the Vicki Lawrence song of the same name (it shares almost no plot elements with the original song). New lyrics related to the plot of the film were written for the film version. The movie was filmed on location in Dade County, Georgia. Dennis Quaid plays Travis Child a skirt-chasing (yet lovable) guy who is constantly sleeping with married women and getting in trouble with the law. His sister, straight arrow Amanda (Kristy McNichol) tries to keep him out of trouble but can't do it. She tries to get policeman Conrad (Mark Hamill) to help her...but has Travis gone too far?

BLINDED BY THE LIGHT $11.95 Real-life brother and sister Jimmy and Kristy McNichol star in this made-for-television drama about a claustrophobic cult. Jimmy McNichol stars as David, oldest son of the seemingly well-adjusted Bowers. When David disappears from his family to live with the Light of Salvation cult, sister Janet (Kristy McNichol) refuses to automatically side with her parents and dismiss the group. Young Janet tries to give her brother's judgement the benefit of the doubt, looking for her own answers, as her desperate parents consult a mind de-programming expert. Taut and edgy at times, the film shows how vulnerable young people get targeted by cults and their charismatic leaders -- only to turn into mindless drones.

SARAH T: PORTRAIT OF A TEENAGE ALCOHOLIC $11.95 1975 Made for TV movie starring Linda Blair. Finding herself unable to cope with the divorce of her parents and the stress of daily life, 15-year-old Sarah Travis starts drinking in secret. At first, alcohol provides comfort and release. Then it sends her life spiraling out of control.

W.W. LITTLE FAUSS & BIG HALSY $11.95 Little Fauss (Michael J. Pollard) and Halsy Knox (Robert Redford) are competing motorcycle racers who form an unusual partnership. The pompous and arrogant Halsy agrees to race under Fauss' name while Fauss serves as his mechanic. Rita (Lauren Hutton) is the rich girl recovering from drugs who catches the eyes of both men. She chooses Halsy and eventually has a child by him after he halts his sexual pit stops with the racetrack floozies. Later, Rita bails out and returns to the sheltered environment of her wealthy parents in elite Palm Springs. Little Fauss and Big Halsy pair off in a race for a big prize. All events are witnessed by the lecherous photographer (Ray Ballard). An excellent musical soundtrack has Johnny Cash singing his own songs, one written by Bob Dylan, and another by Carl Perkins, who also sings one of his self-penned tunes.

THE NAKED APE $11.95 RARE Film from 1973 starring Victoria Principal and Johnny Crawford. Somewhat based on Desmond Morris's fascinating book of pop anthropology, this partially animated satirical docudrama produced by Playboy Magazine publisher Hugh Hefner, traces the evolution of human kind and offers insight into the reasons why we behave the way we do. A prime example of mainstream experimental film-making from the early 70s featuring a young and breathtakingly beautiful VICTORIA PRINCIPAL, probably her only topless scenes.

LINDSAY WAGNER in TWO PEOPLE $11.95 Evan Bonner (Peter Fonda) is a deserter from the Vietnam war; he is on his way back to America to give himself up when he meets Deirdre McCluskey (Lindsay Wagner) a beautiful if petulant model. FULL and UNCUT VERSION with Lindsay's nude scene intact.

LOST HORIZON $11.95 Starring Peter Finch, Liv Ullmann, Sally Kellerman, George Kennedy, Michael York, Olivia Hussey, Charles Boyer and John Gielgud. Directed by Charles Jarrott. This retelling of the classic tale of James Hilton's Utopian lost world plays out uneasily amid musical production numbers and Bacharach pop music. Included are restored segments that had since only been shown in the film's original theater release. While these inserted lost segments are easily recognized by reduced quality from the film's main body, they are a very enjoyable part of the movie's otherwise unseen legacy. 228 minutes.

SURFACING w/KATHLEEN BELLER $11.95 Following her father's disappearance, a city-bred girl and her friends brave the backwoods in a desperate search fraught with danger. After the death of her rich father, she lives together with her stepmother. Recently she sees a man in black following her, waiting for her in her car, wanting to kill her. The police can't help her. But who is this man in black? Is it the strange young man whom she recently dated? Or the psychologist her mother told her to visit? Or is she really insane...? MUST SEE mystery thriller! Rare opportunity to view this classic movie of the week.

HOT STUFF $11.95 1979 film directed by and starring Dom Deluise, the story it tells actually was way ahead of its time and based loosely on fact. A group of cops begin a stolen goods sting by "purchasing" the items, and using videotape as evidence against the "sellers". The movie provides a good look at what extremes the police will do to get the bad guy. The rest of the ensemble cast includes Jerry Reed, Luis Avalos, Ossie Davis and Suzanne Pleshette.

DARKER SIDE OF TERROR $11.95 Scientist (Forster) submits to an experiment in cloning conducted by his former professor (Ray Milland). The operation is a success - except in terms of Forster's personal life. It seems that the researcher's wife (Adrienne Barbeau) finds the clone to be more desirable than the original.

MAGIC ON LOVE ISLAND $11.95 Janis Paige presides over the proceedings at a posh resort, using magical powers to help eight attractive, amiable vacationers discover one another, aided by her nephew and niece, in this pilot for a knock-off of "Fantasy Island." CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF $11.95 Natalie Wood, Robert Wagner, Maureen Stapleton, Laurence Olivier, Mary Peach, Jack Hedley. This RARE TV adaptation of Tennessee Williams' prize-winning play stars Robert Wagner as Brick, a college sports champion who hasn't made it in the real world, and Natalie Wood as Brick's wife Maggie, the sexually frustrated "cat" of the title. A made-for-TV production, the 1976 Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is more sexually explicit than the censor-ridden 1958 Hollywood version.

TARZAN AND THE VALLEY OF GOLD $11.95 In this picture Tarzan played by Mike Henry is first seen stepping out of a helicopter in a suit and tie carrying a briefcase. Later he engages in a gun battle ala James Bond. Eventually he ends up back in the jungle sheds his coat and tie along with his pistol for his loin cloth and knife and takes on the bad guys who are equipped with machine guns, tanks and hi-tech explosives. Actually this Tarzan film although not one of the best is entertaining. Along as his sidekicks are Manuel Padilla Jr who takes on the "BOY" role with the name of Remel and Nancy Kovack who becomes sort of his Jane decked out in sexy female jungle safari clothes. His chimpanzee buddy goes by the name "Dinky". If your a Tarzan fan this film should be included in your viewing keeping in mind that the Tarzan character like Superman has been able to adjust to change through out the decades.
